THE MANDY POETRY CONTEST
MindFire Renewed, the home of the Mandy Poetry Contest, will begin accepting poetry submissions on July 1st.
Gail Amanda (Mandy) Spencer-Hurst was born in England in 1955. She had a relatively quiet childhood. She was a studious young lady who loved to read, especially poetry. She was especially fond of the group known as the War Poets. She married Joe Gazdak in 1982. Mandy died of an aneurysm in 1984 at the age of 28. This contest is dedicated to her memory.

1st prize - $50.00 Cash

2nd prize - $30.00 Cash

3rd prize - $20.00 Cash
RULES
1) Submit one poem of a maximum of 40 lines on any subject in any English language form. Poems which exceed line limits will be disqualified. Limit one entry per person, per address.
2) E-mail submissions to T. Emmett Mueller at Orkie44@aol.com by the contest deadline of 11:59 PM ET on September 1, 2005.
3) There are no restrictions on style or content and previously published submissions are welcomed as long as publication rights may be assigned to MindFire Renewed in event they are selected as winning entries. MindFire reserves the right to publish other entries as Honorable Mentions if they warrant merit in the opinions of the judges. MindFire staff members, judges and affiliates are ineligible.
4) All work MUST be the original work of the entrant. Entrants must supply their first and last name, complete snail mail address, and phone number including area code in the upper left-hand corner of the e-mail. (This information will not be forwarded to judges.) Winners must verify this information and grant electronic rights and send an approval to publish in order to collect their prize. Failure to do so will result in awarding the prize to the next runner up.
5) Winners will be notified by e-mail by 11:59 PM ET no later than October 31, 2005. Names of winners will be announced and published in a winter issue of MindFire, scheduled for publication in December 2005. Prize checks will be delivered by certified mail by mid-December. Winners will be required to sign a return receipt for the prize envelope.
6) Decisions of the judges are final. A list of judges will be published.
